Adoption was quick, and attorneys actually thanked us for introducing it.
IT and deployment
A short setup in Microsoft 365.
IT sets Wemble up in Entra ID and the Teams admin center; lawyers then find it in Teams and Outlook.
Sign-in
People sign in with Microsoft.
Lawyers sign in with their Microsoft work account through Entra ID single sign-on, so your firm's sign-in policies, such as multi-factor authentication, apply.
Wemble identifies the firm from the tenant, never from a form. Guest accounts are never given a Wemble account, and IT can restrict sign-in with user assignment in Entra ID. The one-click links in reminder emails need no sign-in: each sets only one person's status and expires after 30 days.
Accounts
No user lists to build or keep up.
An account is created on first sign-in, in the group that matches the person's department in Entra ID. With directory sync on, titles, groups and photos follow Entra ID.
When someone leaves
- Once IT disables their Microsoft account, they can no longer sign in to Wemble.
- Wemble can turn their Wemble account off automatically when IT deactivates them in Entra ID, which also ends any session still open. We set this up for your firm on request.
- An administrator at your firm can remove anyone in Wemble at any time.
Rollout
Pin it once for everyone.
A Teams administrator uploads the Wemble app and pins it in a setup policy; it appears in everyone's sidebar within a day and is then available in Outlook.
IT also approves Teams activity notifications, which Wemble uses for reminders. The iPhone app supports Intune app protection. There is no Android app; Android users update in Teams or the browser.
Time-recording data
Read-only, and kept for your firm alone.
Connecting a time-recording system is optional; most firms start with availability alone.
Supported systems: Elite 3E and more- Reads
- Time entries, matters, clients and people.
- Writes to your system
- Nothing. With TIQ Time, the one exception is the lawyer’s own status, which is kept the same in TIQ’s capacity reporting.
- Stored
- In a database of its own for your firm, on infrastructure separate from the Wemble app.
- Used for
- Experience profiles, hours and utilization, shown according to your firm’s visibility settings.
Visibility
Your firm decides who sees what.
Most firms let colleagues see each other's availability; hours, matters and experience can be limited to partners, the staffing team or named people.
Confidential matters
Matters marked confidential in your time-recording system show “Confidential” instead of the client name.
Summaries only
Some firms show only summaries, such as how many matters a lawyer has worked on with a given partner.
Offices and groups
You decide which offices and practice groups see each other; staffing teams can see the whole firm.
Live across the firm in three weeks.
Bring your IT team to the demo.
We go through sign-in, Microsoft permissions, the Teams rollout and the time-recording connection with your own setup in mind. Wemble is covered by a data processing agreement with your firm.
